Applications for Turkey Scholarships 2026 will be accepted during a single period, from January 10 to February 20, 2026, from international students of all countries.

What makes Turkey Scholarships special?

What distinguishes Turkish scholarships is that they not only cover financial support, tuition fees, accommodation, and health insurance, but also provide opportunities for university admission and academic, social, and cultural facilities for recipients at all levels of higher education.

Programs and Levels of Study

Applications are open for those wishing to pursue diplomas, bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, and doctoral degrees.

Other programs, such as research grants, merit-based grants, and the CATIB program, have different application periods and are regularly announced on the official website and social media channels.

Turkish Language Education

Students who qualify for higher education in Turkey through Turkish scholarships are offered a free, one-year Turkish language course for those who do not already know the language. This preparatory year of Turkish is mandatory for those not proficient in Turkish and is not limited to those studying in Turkish, but also includes students studying in English and other languages.

The preparatory Turkish language course takes place at Turkish Language Teaching Centers (TÖMER) and lasts eight months, concluding in June. Students are then required to obtain a Turkish language proficiency certificate at level 1C.

All processes related to scholarship recipients from the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) include:

Application Requirements

• Minimum academic performance for Bachelor's and Diploma programs: 70%

• For applicants in health sciences (Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy): 90%

• For Master's and PhD programs: 75%

Minimum age:

• For Diploma programs: Under 21 years old

• For Bachelor's programs: Under 21 years old

• For Master's programs: Under 30 years old

• For PhD programs: Under 35 years old

• For Research programs: Under 50 years old

Notes:

Applications may not be open to students currently studying in Türkiye For the level they are currently studying.

Additional requirements may apply for short-term scholarship programs.

Turkish scholarships do not include specialization in health sciences.

Required Documents:

For online applications, all candidates must submit the following documents:

• Valid national identity card or passport

• Recent passport-size photograph

• National exam results (if available)

• Graduation certificate or provisional certificate (not required for applicants in their final year of study)

• Academic transcripts

• International exam results, if required by the chosen program, such as GMAT, GRE, etc.

• Language proficiency test results, if required by the chosen program

• Research topic proposal and a written transcript of previous work (only for PhD applications)
